One Big Gorilla

Never knew I would enjoy the movie "King Kong" so much.

I wasn't too keen to watch the movie in the beginning coz I did not like the earlier version. To me, the movie was all about one big hairy beast and a silly damsel in distress always screaming like crazy. I can't stand "damsel in distress" and I guess I can never be one (don't know how to scream???). That's why I never get to attract any macho hero (nor gorilla) but wimps instead! Sigh!!!

I must say, this newer version of King Kong is quite a character - he fights like a man, play silly like a man and he sulks like a man too. Yah, yah, name me a man who isn't silly and doesn't sulk.

Ummm.... maybe Lee Kuan Yew is one of the rare few who is not silly.

However, I still didn't quite like the underlying message that the downfall of a man or gorilla, is all because of a beautiful woman. Why do man always like to blame it on the woman??? Huh???

I guess, it all traces back to the time of Adam & Eve....

Come on, let's be honest, man falls because they are weak. Weak enough to fall for a beautiful woman. Weak enough to be tempted. It's not a woman's fault to be beautiful, right?

Anyway, back to our Mr Kong. This guy sure got one soulful pair of eyes. Kudos to the IT or animation guy. (Must be created by one of those SNAG.) Though Mr Kong is quite handicapped in the area of speech, I must say he speaks volume with his eyes (and of course, he chest-thumping). Well, looks like we now have ourselves a Sensitive New Age Gorilla!

Children

"Love is a roller coaster. Motherhood is a whole amusement park." - Cathy Guisewite

How apt!

If having one kid gives you the experience of one amusement park, I must be in Disneyland since I have three!

My kids never fail to amuse me. My very first born always amazes me with her artistic talent and I always wonder where that gene comes from. I sure hope she will take her talent to great heights. For the time, I will be happy to see it takes form in our new flat. Miss Picasso has agreed to create her first masterpiece for the new flat. Ummm.... if it's good enough, I may fetch a much higher resale value later should we decide to sell. Not bad, not bad.....

Then there is my very entertaining Jim Carrey of the family. He's such a wonder in the art of imitation that he will put some of those TCS artiste to shame. (Am I bragging or what???) But that's the real truth.... at least in my eyes!

Now, what can I say about the little precocious one. She sure is one great amusement park.

While watching this old lady screeching and dancing on TV with wayang makeup, she cooly commented to her doting grandmama "Yeee! She's so scary. Please don't be like her."

Not too happy with her comment, her very entertaining grandmama decided to get up and boggie just to prove that she's definitely better than the other old grandmama. Sadly, her precious one was not amused and told her "Enough! You are too noisy! Please sit down!".

How's that from a five years old???

Yes, life with children can be difficult , especially when you're on your own. Yet very soon, sooner than you think, you'll be asking Where has the time gone? And it will be just you. No more amusement park. All quiet, very quiet.............

Treasure them every moment!

Background for Marriage

Read this interesting article by Dr James Dobson.

There are 3 major family characteristics that seem to increase the chances of having a good marriage.

1st - the happiness of your parents (if your parents stayed together and were reasonably happy, you've got a pretty good example to follow.) - However, if one dies, that doesn't count right???

2nd - your own happiness as a child. (good childhood gives you a sense of yourself; a sense of security that enables you to be flexible in the way you relates to others) - come on, kiddo, be happy, don't worry....

3rd - a lack of conflict with you mother (TOTALLY agreed!) - now you kids out there, listen to your momma and be NICE, ok.

If you find that your background is lacking in any of these areas, that doesn't mean you've lost your chance for a good marriage, but it does mean that you've got some additional hurdles ahead of you.

Shit.... wish I was that smart and sensible years ago....not that I am any smarter now... : ( ... ouch!

Never mind, at least I can now be on the look out for my own kids. Yah, you bet!

Didn't I just said, listen to your momma, no conflict, right? Momma is always right, ur-hmmm.!
